Like our national parent organization, USGBC New York works to advance buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable to build and operate and healthy places to live and work. We have made tremendous strides in our first six years – training thousands of people on the basics of building green, hosting hundreds of educational seminars and technical workshops, and building an audience of more than 4,000 subscribers to our weekly electronic newsletter. Along with those successes, our membership has increased by more than 30% since the beginning of the year.

Yet, there's still much more work to be done. Green building must evolve from headlines to common, everyday practice. To this end, USGBC New York has embarked on a major expansion of our programs and added staff to support these initiatives. We are targeting a number of areas, including advocacy and a green construction skills training program.
